No-Fry Banana Chips

I am constantly on the hunt for healthy snack options. More recently, healthy travel snack options. Here is one of my favorite snacks that doesn’t take much prep and is extremely addictive. They are also much healthier for you compared to the fried kind you would find in stores as they are still raw and oil-free.

Do you have any favorite travel snacks for when you are on the go?

No-Fry Banana Chips

2 bananas
Juice from one lemon
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
pinch of salt

In a large bowl, squeeze lemon juice, add cinnamon + nutmeg + salt, and stir to combine.

Slice bananas no thicker than 1/4″ and add to bowl. Mix bananas in the lemon juice mix to coat bananas lightly and place on teflex or non-stick sheet as close as possible together.

Dehydrate at 105° F. At the 8 hour mark remove and flip all the banana slices and dehydrate for another 8 hours.

Pro tip: when choosing bananas, I select ones that are starting to brown a bit so they’re a little sweeter. If you like them less sweet though choose greener bananas.
